Kim C. Martin

Web Sized Nadler Biernath by Courtney Goldman 3

Kim Martin is an associate attorney at Nadler Biernath. Her practice focuses on trusts and estates issues, with a specialization in estate planning for families with a special needs family member. Her areas of expertise also include guardianship and conservatorship, divorce issues that involve support for a child with special needs, and estate and gift tax planning. As the mother of two beautiful children, one of whom has autism, Kim brings to her practice an appreciation for the unique challenges and joys of parenting a special needs child.

Before joining Nadler Biernath, Kim was an associate at Lefkoff, Duncan, Grimes, McSwain and Hass, P.C., and an associate in the estate planning and administration group at the Atlanta office of Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams and Martin (now Chamberlain, Hrdlicka, White, Williams and Aughtry). She has also worked in the State and Local Tax Division of KPMG, LLP.

Kim served two terms as an elected member of the Policy Council for Easter Seals and was named Easter Seals Parent of the Year in 2010. She is currently a member of the Parent Advisory Council for FOCUS + Fragile Kids. She serves on numerous Boards of Directors for organizations whose mission involves providing assistance and support to neurodiverse individuals, including “Just” People, Peter and Paul’s Place, Right in the Community, and Branch Out Initiative. Her publications include articles in Trusts and Estates Magazine and Family Lawyer Magazine. She is a frequent speaker on the subjects of special needs trusts, guardianship, and divorce settlement agreements for families that include a child with special needs.

Outside of work, Kim spends much of her time shuttling her two busy kids to school or extracurricular activities. When she’s not driving across town and back again, she likes to work in her garden, exercise and host big, loud dinner parties for friends and family. She’s also always thinking of her next adventure. She spent her 50th birthday at Machu Picchu.
